Two Harder: Two Worlds II (360)

I am a sucker for things that are so bad they are good. I revel in creative endeavors that are so awkwardly earnest in their ineptitude they become charming, like Anne Hathaway pre-epic hotness.

Two Worlds II is no Anne Hathaway.

Ugly, clunky, and broken, Two Worlds II suffers from some of the worst voice acting and writing to ever plague gaming. Combat is painfully ragged and unintuitive, using both physical & magical weapons to limited effect.

A varied and complicated spell & crafting system clutters the HUD, but reveals the massive ambition of the developers, unfettered by things like design or intuition.

While having not played Two Worlds, I understand Two Worlds II is a vast improvement over the original, which appears to be damning it with faint praise. Two Worlds II never endears enough charm to make struggling through the horrible movement and combat worthwhile, and it stands as one of the few “narrative” based games I have been unable to finish.
